Green Peppercorn: Fairfield

It has been way too long since my last post. I have been way too busy as of late. Anyway – here is another review on a Thai Restaurant in the South-West of Sydney.

This is Green Peppercorn, located just a short stroll from Fairfield station.

Green Peppercorn gets really busy on a Friday and Saturday night. I think we waited almost an hour on both occasions we visited.

They make up for it though with complimentary fruit shakes. Yum!

Normally I get the Massaman curry with Beef. But this time I got it with lamb. Quite tasty.

And now on to the deserts.

Buying dessert in Japan is really a special experience. We found this place inside a large supermarket/ Myers type place in Hiroshima not too far from the JR station. From what I remember there is a  whole section of different vendors, dedicated to sweet stuff. It comes served in  heart shaped   crockery. Cute!

Yakiniku: Japanese Charcoal BBQ

We were in Ikebukuro on a cold night so we decided to have something hot to eat. Our choice was a Japanese Charcoal BBQ restaurant. Also very easy to order. Just point to the pictures, and you cook the meat yourself on the charcoal grill on your table.

I can’t remember exactly what we had but what I remember is: intestine, heart, liver, corn, pork sausages, pork ribs,  thinly sliced beef, bacon etc. I grew up eating the ‘regular’ pieces of meat as well as the other stuff, so the notion of eating  something like chicken liver is not off putting to me. It’s such a waste to just eat particular parts of an animal and not eat the rest, because they tend to be the more tender, and less bland cuts of meat.

We finished the meal with some berry ice cream and a sundae in waffle cone.
