Bel & Brio (Barangaroo)

Here is another one also situated in Barangaroo.

The seafood Carpaccio of the day. Light and refreshing, delicately seasoned. My only quarrel was the lack of mint. I felt as though each fish piece should have one mint piece to go with it.

It is a nice looking dish with some nice nutty flavours through out. However, I felt as though it could be better with the introduction of a bitier cheese. In addition, the pasta was hard which made it a little unpleasant to eat. I do enjoy Al Dente pasta but this was a little under.

Giginos is one of my local Pizza places hidden amongst a residential area. Chances are that most people will be unaware of it due to its location, and separation from the buzzing meccas. However, if you wish to venture – you shall be rewarded with some excellent food.

Now for the food.

Arancini balls. Nice and crispy.

ORTOLANA Pomodoro, mozzarella, eggplant, zucchini, capsicum

COMPARE’ Pomodoro, mozzarella, sausage, ricotta & basil

I do not remember which one this one was. But it’s a vegetarian one with eggplant.

TERRONI Salad of tomato, olives, cucumber, carrots, mozzarella & iceberg served in a foccacia bowl

Giginos can be found in Fairfield West. But make sure you book ahead of time, it is a very popular small restaurant with very limited seating.

Eat Love Pizza

Eat Love Pizza is located in a prime location in Darling Harbour right next to the Imax Theatre. Strangely enough its prime location does not help in bringing in customers unfortunately. As you walk around the bend from Darling Harbour to Cockle Bay Wharf you tend not to see the rest of the restaurant. I have walked past this restaurant many times, and just assumed that it was some kind of take out place.

We decided to give this place a couple weeks ago, and thought that the decor was much nicer than we had anticipated.

Arancini Balls. These tasted ‘breadier’ and drier than the usual arancini balls I have had in the past. The added sauce is a necessity in this case. I wasn’t blown away. Perhaps a different kind of sauce rather than something that is essentially Tomato Sauce would raise it up another level.

Frittata. Nice and light, and the salad complimented it very well.

Gamberi  Tomato base, garlic tiger prawns, chilli, wilted spinach & sweet chilli sauce

I really enjoyed this pizza.  Although I think it could do with a little more chilli/spice as it is listed in the ingredients.

Peking Duck Tomato base, marinated duck, chilli, toasted sesame seeds, rocket, orange & hoi sin.

Rose & Vanilla Panacotta 16.00 With spiced marsala blueberries & biscotti

Gelato & Sorbet  With biscotti.Chefs Selection. Cookies and Cream, Coconut and some fruity one. The cookies and cream tasted pretty standard, the coconut tasted like coconut milk you get out of a can. Unfortunately I didn’t catch the flavour of the fruity one, but it tasted a lot like Fruit Tingle Lollies. Awesome.

Jamie’s Italian – Sydney Australia

This was actually my second time visiting Jamie’s Italian in Sydney. However the first time we went, I ended up with a nasty stomach bug just before the night and couldn’t stomach anything.

Skip several months later and here I am.

We started off with the Fried Three Cheese Gnocchi and Fiery Arrabiata sauce. Quite tasty but I wouldn’t be calling it fiery though.

Our second Entree was the Baked Mushroom.  Buffalo Mozzarella and mushrooms surrounded by crispy bread. I think I enjoyed the crispy bread more than the cheese and mushrooms.

For mains i had Jamie’s Signature Porchetta. i.e Pork Belly with Watercress.

I tend accompany most of my meals with salad so would have liked a little more Watercress.

I forgot which pasta dish my partner had for her main. Can anyone help here?
