Expect to wait a while to get in. So make sure you dress warm.

WP_20140801_20_20_58_ProPaparich uses a buzzer style system of ordering accompanied with a sheet of paper.

WP_20140801_20_20_45_ProBasically you write down the menu number (which is listed on the menu) , quanity, table number, and number of people, press the button and a server comes and collects it off you.

WP_20140801_20_28_11_ProMango Mania. Basically a fruit Frappe, with Lychees on the top.

Ribena Melon. Fruit frappe with fresh lychees, jelly, and melon balls.

WP_20140801_20_46_04_ProWe started off with Hainan Steamed Bread & Kaya. Kaya is a sweet creamy, coconut spread. Nice dish, wish it was a little less soggy though.

WP_20140801_20_46_18_ProVegetarian Dim Sum.

WP_20140801_20_39_40_ProRoti Canai, Tandoori Chicken. Delicious. Should’ve gotten another serve of Tandoor Chicken.

WP_20140801_20_42_40_ProBiryani Rice with  Vegetarian Curry Mutton..

Macha Soya, red bean, and green tea ice cream. Classic combination of asian flavours. Very nice.

WP_20140809_20_44_43_ProIce Blended Bandung with Glass Jelly. Banddung is condensed milk and rose cordial.

WP_20140801_21_28_28_ProWe finish off with 2 plates of Banana Fritters. We were stuffed by the end of it, and realised we should have just ordered the one plate. They have an option to get the ‘premium’ ice-cream. The standard option is more like a soft style ice cream.

Menulog: Peacock Palace Chinese Restaurant.

We enjoyed some Chinese Takeaway tonight courtesy of Menulog – “No.1 for Online Takeaway”.

1

The process was pretty simple. Punch your postcode or suburb into the search bar above, and it takes you to another page with a listing of various restaurants within your area.

2

The restaurant we decided on was The Peacock Palace Chinese Restaurant in Blacktown.  We went with Banquet 2:  Garlic Chicken, Pork Spare Ribs, and swapped over one of the dishes to a vegetarian stir fried noodle.

The order was estimated to arrive at 7:56.

The order arrived at exactly 7:56 or pretty damn close. Food was still hot, and it came with an extra 1.25L Pepsi, and a bag of Prawn Crackers. Meat dish swapped for Vegetarian dish no problems 🙂

How can you have Chinese food and not have Prawn Crackers right?

Chicken Rice at Glutton Bay Singapore

Singapore is one of those must-do-stopover-type places when travelling overseas. I would recommend giving yourself at least a day or 2 to be able to relax and take everything in.  We had about 6 hours to get from the Airport and back, so we were a little confined to a tight schedule.

We decided to head to Glutton Bay in Marina Bay. Heaps of Hawker style fooderies in an outdoor area overlooking the water. Ridiculously cheap food too, very very friendly people, and if you are concerned about language barriers – pretty much everyone who lives there speaks clear english.

How can you go past Chicken Rice with some iced-tea in Singapore? I eat this in Sydney all the time and just had to try it in Singapore. Very delicious.
